Meet the Maker of Shugarman’s Chocolates

Harvey Shugarman has been making culinary delights since the age of six when friends and neighbors would gather around his mom’s kitchen table to sample his renditions of spaghetti in a can. By his Bubbie’s side in her kitchen he learned the art of flavoring every creation with love.

At the age of twenty-nine, Harvey opened “Harvey’s” restaurant at Greenspring Station in Baltimore which was notably one of Maryland’s finest restaurants for twenty years. Some considered “Harvey’s” menu eclectic, introducing Baltimore to new things like Grilled Tofu with Hoisin Sauce, Ceviche, and Goat Cheese with Sun-dried tomatoes. Everything in “Harvey’s” kitchen was made from scratch.

He started making chocolate in 2008 after having closed his restaurant. The immediate response from friends and family was overwhelmingly positive, urging him to make it available for purchase.

Harvey came to New Mexico in 2012 and fell head over heels in love with Madrid. He found himself inspired to become a vital part of Madrid’s quaint community of rebels, artists and poets and opened “Shugarman’s Little Chocolate Shop” in Gypsy Plaza. His chocolate creations were well received by both locals and tourists.

This is the first time that Shugarman’s Chocolate has become available for online purchasing. We hope you’ll join us in discovering for yourself why we’re considered one of the best handcrafted chocolate shops from people all over the world.

To your health and with much love,

Harvey & Nan
